Well now that Apple has launched the iPhone 5, iPad Air and iPad Mini, time to see what else folks are doing. The main thing seems to be to try to be Apple at half the price. Not a bad time to be buying stuff. Here is the buzz on products to try from the Android world:

• Google Nexus 5. Wow there is a whole website dedicated just to rumors about it. It should ship shortly and cost $300 unlocked (?!!). Supposed to feature amazing design, the latest Android called Kit Kat (these names!), have a 13 megapixel camera. Drool. Drool.
• Google Nexus 7. Supposedly there is an equivalent tablet coming out with a Snapdragon S4 Pro and there is a rumored Nexus 10 coming. $230 for a 16GB Wifi model (compared with $500 for the iPad Air or $400 for the iPad Mini)
• Kindle Fire HDX. This is retina display level and is a 7″ tablet. It has a 1920×1200 HD screen with a Snapdragon 800 quad core. $230 for the low end 16GB Wifi. They are coming out with a bigger 8.9″ tablet as well.
• Kindle Phone. I made the name up, but Amazon is rumored to be doing their own phone.
