Silicon Valley Bank online tips and tricks

SVB is one of the top bankers for high tech companies. They have a nice program for startups to get access and be part of the community. At the same time, the interface has some tricky parts so here are some tips:

  1. SVB does have some nice discount codes for services like Docusign that you might need, but you can only see the discounts and things in the mobile applications. For instance in the iPad application, this is on the upper left in the section titled `toolkit`
  2. When you are using a password manager like 1Password, on mobile applications, it doesn’t quite work. Even with auto fill, you need to go to the password section. Hit any character and then backspace and the login button will light up.
  3. The username is assigned ahead of time by the administrator. It is kind of confusing, but you will get that user name from that person and then you should get a separate mail with the starter login.
  4. If you are using Billpay classic, then this is the actually a pop up. For most modern browsers like Safari on Mac or IOS, this will be blocked which is pretty confusing. You need to enable pop ups if you want to use this in iOS Settings/Safari or in MacOS System Preferences.
