The Final Day Autodesk Information Letter 14

OK, in the continuing mission to archive all that is interesting. This comes from ancient history, but I remember reading this memo to this day. John Walker was the founder of Autodesk and he was really worried about what was going to happen as mass market beat high profit small markets.

His note call information letter #14 was one of the most popular memos I remember reading and fortunately, he has left it up for all to see at is the nicely formatted memo. His worry that Autodesk would be obsolete of course didn’t come true, but his observations about the power of the mass market and specifically Microsoft at the time was a good introduction to the problems with just chasing margin. A great read!

And yes, if I were you I would squirrel it away somewhere
