Prepaid Visa and Mastercard Cards to Amazon

OK, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with the new payment scheme where rebate sites like Topcashback.com and legal settlements give you this tiny amount of prepaid Visa and Mastercards. Other sites just let you put in a Paypal account or give you an Amazon card directly. The problem is that you can’t split payments on Amazon, so what are you supposed to do with this?

Some sites suggest using these money transfer sites, but they charge a $2 fee and that doesn’t make sense for a $9 payment. Even if you use Paypal, you pay a 2% fee.

The simple solution is that you can reload your Amazon gift card balance to the penny so “drain” the prepaid Visa or Mastercard precisely. Enter the credit card into your Amazon payments list. Then go to the refill balance site and type it in the amount and hit refill.

I had a really hard time finding the refill gift card balance link, but if you just try to buy an Amazon e-gift card and type in your Amazon login email, it will provide you with a link for the refilling.

I can’t believe I’ve lost $100s with unredeemed prepaid cards without figuring out this trick. Before, I would try to match amounts as Amazon does not let you split payments between multiple credit cards. so don’t be me.
