I’m not quite sure why I bought a dedicated Blu Ray player since the PS3 seems pretty much good enough, but since I have one, I get to live with glacial startup times and then it rejects disks all the time because of firmware issues. Anyway, the answer is an update you do via a CD at http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/HomeEntertainment/Blu-rayDisc+DVD/PioneerBlu-rayDiscPlayers/ci.BDP-51FD.Kuro?tab=F which will probably brick this $600 thing.

And since I haven’t burned a CD in just about two years, I got the CD stuck in my iMac. Here is how to unstick it. It didn’t appear in finder, but Disk Utility let’s you do a force eject 🙂
