This is why I can’t wait for Starlink vs Comcast

I finally had a chance to read the Comcast latest agreement and it just reinforces why these kinds of contracts are just super unfair. The net is that you literally have no idea or any control as to when and how they raise prices. Geez, I can’t believe people are forced to sign this. But anyone on Comcast, please be aware:

They say they general will notify you of price increases but they will not notify you in most if not all cases, so if for instance HBO raises their rates they specifically call that out as not telling you. But notice, that they say “in general” so they have no requirement to tell you about any prices increase. Geez.

Certain pricing, charges, and fees may change at any time and from time to time. In general, we will provide you with notice of any change in our standard prices or fees or new prices or fees. However, if there is a change in governmental or quasi-governmental taxes, fees, or assessments, or in any third-party charges billed through us, we may not provide notice unless required by applicable law.

But the section that is really beauty is you are bound to contract but they are not. They can raise their prices or change the service anytime they want.

We reserve the right to change the Services, rates, and charges at any time, with or without notice to you, to the extent permitted by applicable law. For example, we may delete or change content, programming, functionality, features, rate limitations, available speeds, or Xfinity Equipment.

And the great thing is that they don’t have to every tell you. You notice it says, “we may deliver” which means there is no notification requirement. And even more beautiful for them is that they only have to post on a random website on a website they identify but they don’t have to tell you where the website as they only identify a website but don’t need to tell you what it is. Geez.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Agreement. We may deliver any notice concerning our relationship with you and any change to our relationship, including notice of any change to this Agreement, in any one or more of the following ways (at our discretion): (a) post notice on www.xfinity.com, your “My Account” page, or another website we identify; …
