Well, I have now run over both pairs of my Rudy Project Tayo sunglasses. Both freak accidents, but good thing I have an Oakley Pro M still. But I’ll need another a clear lense set.
I loved the Rudy Project Tayo’s by the way, but the Pro Ms are so incredibly clear all the way around. Here’s the scoop on buying them.
It is very complex because they have five lense styles and three different kinds of frames. The lense styles (instead of being called x-large, large, medium, small, x-small, have really cool names that are in order heater, strike, sweep, hybrid, hybird-s which mean the same thing.
I have the sweep which fits me pretty well. The frames btw can hold any of these lenses.
In terms of frames, the Pro are plastic and have a hing. the pro m’s are plastic and don’t hing at all, but are very snug and finally there are the Magnesiums which are metal.
I have the Pro M and these are fine for cycling and maybe even a fraction lighter. The glasses themselves with a single lense is $105 for non-Iridium, $145 for Iridium sunglass lense.
Finally, besides the stock lenses, they have an incredibly broad array, the most important seems to be whether they are regular ($30) or vented ($70) where little holes are cut in the top.
The lenses colors are confusing, but “technical-gear.com”:http://www.technical-gear.com/sunglasses/by_brand/oakley/m_frame/m_frame_lenses.htm explains with prices at $30 for non-Iridium and $70 for Iridium
