wp: So happy, now adding back in Mastodon plugins

I have a whole host of these which allow amongst other things, the ability to use this server as a Mastodon web client and you can also view this blog as a Mastodon server. Pretty neat, but let’s see if it slows the system down. It takes about 10 seconds now to post (it was five minutes or so with the All-in-one SEO conflict), so let’s see if there is any difference.

Well adding back the Mastodon plug-ins turned it back into a 3 minute time to post something, so probably want to back out some of them. The one that I started with is Mastodon Apps, this let’s you view your website with a Mastodon client. I’m not quite sure why you would need this. The other one is called Friends, which let’s you use your website as a Mastodon reader. Again not sure I need this with native clients around.

The ActivityPub one is pretty valuable though, this let’s other Mastodon instances grab data, so is more like a backen. I also enabled WebFinger that posts information about your blog to others. And Nodeinfo which does much the same. These should be low overhead.

Turning off Friends and Mastodon Apps took post time down to 8 seconds or so from three minutes.
