Well, I finally decided to get three more pens, and I ended up losing one to my stupidity, so here’s the latest on my fountain pen hobby.
OK, for those of you new to the hobby, I’ve had these pens for a while, and I’ve never had a jam. But I took my cheapest pen, the $50 Narvalur, on the road, and the thing just stopped writing.
I took some internet advice to stick the nib into soapy water,r but this didn’t help. I finally just decided I would put it into water and force the plunger down.
A huge mistake, I blew out the O-ring system in the itself and there is no way without a tool to open it up. Plus I don’t know how to get another O-ring.
net, net, if a fountain pen jams, you have to take the thing apart. Don’t force anything. Argh. Turns out I just need the magic wrench and then I can take it apart and put it back together.
